I choose the octopus...

That is what Shaun was saying when i climbed into bed last night. I love it!! I just got into bed and started laughing. Then I thought I should take a picture of him and the 6 pillows that he sleeps with every night. He complains of not getting a good night sleep, I wonder why. Every time he rolls over all the pillows go with him. Good thing we have a king bed so there is still room for me!
A few nights before he woke me up by calling my name over and over. As soon as I said what, he said how about you come lay down next to me. I told him I had been sleeping next to him for a couple of hours already. So he said good then rolled over and that was the end of that. The best was when I was getting in bed a few months ago. I took my socks off and threw them across the bed, he reached up and caught them. It surprised me because he had been asleep for a while and it was dark, I don't know how he did it. After a second of me laughing he asked "did I just catch this?" He hardly remembered anything the next morning.

The last few days!

We went up to our friends cabin last night and played in the mountains. Anna had a really good time throwing rocks in the river and playing on the teter totter with Lilly. We had a great time watching the kids and catching up.

This was a fun teter totter, it went up and down, but it also went around in circles. We had a great time on it.

Anna's hair is finally long enough that I can pull it up into a little pony tail on the top of her head. This is her 2nd pony tail.
Anna will ride on the cart any way possible, as long as it's not where she is suppose to ride in it. Luckily for her, Grandpa let's her do what she wants. I guess that is why he is her favorite.
I had to post this picture too because I am SO excited about it. Our new thermostat came with the central air that was put in this morning. Our swamp cooler had some minor issues and Shaun didn't want to spend the time fixing it since we were getting the central air. It has been a HOT week without either one, but now it's nice and cool!

St. George trip with the girls!!

Myself, Anna, Jen & Madelyn enjoyed a week in St. George with just the girls. Relaxing? Not so much. Next time we do a girls trip, it will definitely be a big girls trip, leave the cute kids with dad. We left at 8:30 Memorial Day night so the kids could sleep on the way down. Anna finally fell asleep in Cedar City, good plan.
Tuesday morning we met up with Marissa, Josh and their 2 kids to go boating. We had a great time playing on the tube and soaking up the sun. All the kids fell asleep and gave the moms a little break in the afternoon...not Anna! She was all over the place. We will be lucky if we are invited to go boating with Marissa again.
The next few days, Jen & I and the girls had fun swimming, shopping, finding new splash pads and parks to keep the girls happy. When Friday came we were ready to leave and come home to dad. Here are a few pictures of our St. George week.

Shaun's paradise playground ...cool bike video

Normally my brothers-in-law (Patrick and Kyle) and I get our kicks from the snow. In fact, I believe my life's mission is an endless search for fresh powder.
We decided to get big bikes and build a bike park with wooden stunts and jumps to pass the time during the off season. A few nights ago, Kyle and I had someone come up and film us riding our park with an RC helicopter and some other gear.
Here is the resulting video.
...enjoy!
Until I get smart and figure out how to embed files, you'll have to view the video at this link: http://www.vimeo.com/1060609

Mexico Cruise

We recently got back from a cruise to Ensenada and Cabo San Lucas Mexico. We went with our friends Dave & Lindsay. Anna was able to spend a few days with each of her grandparents. She did great...and so did we :) It was a 5 day cruise and we had so much fun. The weather was a little chilly until we got down to Cabo, but we still had a great time.

We cruised on the Carnival Elation

Cabo San Lucas

When we got off the ship in Cabo a lady with this huge iguana came up and put the iguana on Shaun's shoulder. We started taking pictures of each of us holding it. Once we gave it back to her she made us pay her $2.00 each.

Ernesto & Pong, our waiters.
While we were in Cabo San Lucas we decided to do the Sea Trek excursion, it's where you put a 75 lb helmet on and walk on the ocean floor. It was fun, but next time I wouldn't wait until the last minute to book an excursion. There were definitely better excursions to do than that. All in all we had a great vacation get-away! Best of all we got to come home to a sweet girl who missed us and we missed her!

5 Years & Counting

Today is our 5 year anniversary. I'm glad we got married 5 years ago instead of today. It was nice and warm the day we got married...today it's snowing!! Life is great, I couldn't be married to a better guy!! This is what we looked like back then, I wish we could go back!

Zion National Park

2 weeks ago we went down to Zion's with the usual gang (my family & Whippermans). We stayed at the Zion Ponderosa Ranch which is near the east entrance to the Park. We had a great time and were able to relax. On Friday we went into the park and hiked Angels Landing. This hike is about 5 miles round trip and is not for those that are afraid of heights. Here are a few pics from our weekend getaway.

At the ranch, there was a small petting zoo with horses, ducks, goats, chickens, bunnies and a few other things.

Kip claimed that he could catch this rooster and put it to sleep. I guess that it was something he learned how to do when down in Paraguay. He did catch it and put it to sleep. Once you catch the rooster you tuck it's head under it's wing and move him in circles. After a few seconds of that he laid him down on the ground and the rooster was asleep. He slept until Kip woke him up. It was one of the funniest things I've ever seen!

Here you can see how narrow it gets at the top!

Anna was very good the whole hike, she loves being in the back pack. But when we
were done, she decided to have a little tantrum and lay in the middle of the street.

Fun on the Slopes of Alta

We took Anna skiing for the first time today. We went up to Alta with our friends Steve and Shilo and their little boy Weston. He is 2 weeks younger than Anna and they play great together. Steve and Shaun skiied with Anna and Weston on their backs.

Family picture looking out at Timpanogos.

Shaun and Anna enjoying some quality time together.

My two favorite people.

This is definitely Shaun's idea of quality family time... He's probably trying to figure out how to get us all on down hill bikes for some quality family time during the summer season!

We lounged around by the car for lunch, we grabbed Subway on the way up. Anna was already feeling a little tired.

After lunch we took one last run. Anna was done by that time and fell asleep on the lift. We tried to wake her; but, she was out cold.

We had a great time and Anna loved it. Every time Shaun would stop she would immediately say more and want to take off again.
