Consignment Sale

I just got home from the consignment sale, I'm pretty happy with what I walked out with. Shaun is always gone when I get home from this sale, so I display all my findings so he can see when he gets home. I make him guess what I spent on everything. It usually makes me feel good about what I got because he always guesses really high. Any guesses? Shaun guessed $100.00. Well, I walked out spending $55.00. Not bad if you ask me. I am thinking I might save a few of the toys and give them to Anna for Christmas. But then again maybe not, I'm really excited to see if she likes them and Christmas is so far away.

I'm thinking I might go back in the morning to see what else I can find. If anyone is interested, it's at a Methodist Church on 10600 S. 1000 E. I think they are open Friday from 9-7:00 and Saturday 9-1:30.

Craft Time

Not much has been has been going on at the Moyes home lately. Shaun went to St. George with his Dad and 3 brothers last weekend for their annual guys trip. They golfed and went to Las Vegas for the Nascar truck races. Glad I'm not a guy! I thought I'd try to be crafty. So I went The Wood Connection and bought this WITCH craft. Lindsay and I each bought one. Then we got together to paint and finish them.

This is my finished masterpiece.

I had to find something to do I the evenings once Anna was in bed so I crocheted all of these.

Camping at Lake Washington

For the last few years we have been going up the Alexander Lake to go camping. It's kind of difficult to get to this lake without 4 wheel drive cars and a few scratches on the way up. Since we were going a little late in the year I decided we needed a tent trailer since we have Anna. I do love to tent camp but I didn't want her to be miserably cold when it was time to sleep. Shaun's brother had a trailer that we were able to borrow. It made sleeping so much better. We decided to try something new this year and go to Lake Washington. The nice thing about Alexander Lake is you aren't right next to someone. There aren't designated camp sites, you find somewhere that looks good and you set up camp. Lake Washington has camping areas which are right next to one another, so there is no privacy. Bummer, but we still had fun. Next year we will probably go back to Alexander Lake.

We took a canoe up to play with on the lake

Anna & Dad throwing rocks on the island that we canoed out to

The next day Kyle, Nic & Shaun swam in the FREEZING lake out to the island.

One of these bathing beauties is all mine!

Anna really wanted to swim, but it was freezing so we took her shoes off and she was able to put her feet in. She didn't seem to care that it was so cold.

A day at the Zoo

Summer is almost over and Anna hadn't been to the zoo yet. So we called some friends and went to see the aminals (that is how Anna says it). It was the perfect day, not crowded at all and the weather was almost a little cool. Her favorite aminal was the monkey.

Anna hates anything fun, she did not want to ride the carosel, but I am a mean mother and make her do things. So I ended up riding the kanagaroo and holding her on my lap. She cried most of the time, but by the end she was having a good time and wanted more.

She did however love the train ride

Quick trip to St. George

We decided last minute to go to St. George last weekend. Shaun's work needed someone to install a washer and dryer in Brianhead on Friday. So Anna and I tagged along to get away. We left at 10:30 Thursday night, got into St. George at 2:30 a.m. then woke up at 8:00 to head back to Brianhead. Anna slept the whole way down which was worth leaving at 10:30 at night. She watched dbdb's (DVDs) the rest of the time we were in the car. She was so good the whole time.
After Shaun got done doing the install we took a ride up the lift to enjoy the scenery. There was a downhill bike practice race going on so Shaun was drooling over all the bikers. He had wanted to take his bike, but being the sweet husband he is, he spent the day hiking with us.

They have a car seat that they strap to the lift for kids to ride up on. About 30 seconds into the ride, Anna started saying "I'm done now", she said it over and over until we got off the lift.

This was one of the obstacles for the bike race. I think it looks stupid and crazy. Why would anyone see it and think of riding their bike down it? That is a drop off on the other side of that little log! Shaun on the other hand was picking his line down and where he would ride if he had his bike. I was really happy the bike stayed home. I was nervous enough watching strangers go down and didn't want to watch Shaun try to kill himself!

We were out all day, so as soon as we started walking down the mountain, Anna decided it was time for a nap. She slept the whole way down. I was surprised she didn't have a kink in the neck when she woke up.

We went to the Sandhollow Aquatic Center to swim because the pool at our condo was being cleaned. It was fun because there was fun things for Anna to do in the pool, until somebodies kid pooped and we all had to evacuate. Ewe, cryptospiridium!!

In this picture Shaun had just taken Anna down the big water slide. She was a little nervous at first but ended up enjoying it.

She was being brave and going down the frogs tongue all by herself!
