Look who's 2!!!

Our little girl is 2!! I can't believe how quickly time passes. Two years ago she couldn't even hold her head up. Now she walks, talks and tells you how things are going to be. She has brought us so much happiness and we can't imagine life with out her.

This is just after we brought her home from the hospital

1 year picture

Shaun blew up (with an air compressor) all these balloons last night so we could decorate her room while she was sleeping.
Her room once it was all decorated

Shaun wanted to be here when she woke up so he could see if she like her room. She was still sleeping when he was ready to go so we woke her up. She wasn't too happy about it at first. Once she got out of bed and into the balloons she enjoyed it.

I have been hiding her Birthday and Christmas presents under my bed for the last few weeks. She found them and wasn't too happy when I wouldn't let her see them. She told everyone that her presents were hiding in mom's bed. Last night we wrapped them and put them back under our bed so she could pull them out and open them today. She opened up 2 of them and we saved one for later today.

She knows she is two, but can't hold up the fingers. We taught her to hold up both pointers to show us.

Later we met some friends for play date at Marissa's. We got started on Gingerbread Houses, had lunch and a cupcake for Anna's birthday. So far she has had a good day with lot's of calls and presents.

A Night Out

Last night we got together with the girls and our husbands for a Christmas party. We went to eat at Red Rock, which was tasty. We then went bowling at the Ritz Bowling Alley. We bowled in two groups of four and the loosing team had to buy the winning team ice cream. Unfortunately Shaun and I were on the loosing team with Josh and Marissa. We went to Maggie Moo's and paid off our debt after we got done bowling.

The loosing team...Josh, Marissa, Mandy & Shaun
Brittany, Jami, Mandy, Marissa (we were sad to not have Jen with us)
The winning team...Josh, Brittany, Doug & Jami
We had a lot of fun with everyone. I have been friends with most of these girls since elementary school. It's nice that we all still live close enough to get together with our kids and have play dates. It was even nicer to leave the kids home last night and bring our husbands.

Random pics

I stole these pictures from a my friend Lindsey's photo blog...I hope that's okay!! I haven't taken my camera anywhere with me lately, hence the lack of posts. I will try to do better this month. We went to Gardner Village a while ago with some friends from our neighborhood. These are some of the pictures taken while there.

We didn't even ask her to pose for us. She came up with this all on her own.

Lot's of cute girls for Anna to play with...Leila, Anna, Bentley, Brooklyn and Mylee.

Anna says...

I've been trying to remember some of the cute things this girl says lately. I can't believe how much she talks and talks and talks!! I didn't realize how well a 22 month old communicates, holy cow! She makes sentences and lets you know what she wants. Here are a few of the things she has said lately...

  • Don't look at me mom, I naked
  • Mom, I awake now. Gimme out! (When she is calling to get out of her crib)
  • Get me mom (or dad)
  • Look at me
  • Did you see that?!?
  • Mom, you look pretty (I had just gotten out of the shower and blow dried my hair all frizzy. I was still in my robe...not looking pretty at all!!)
  • No way!
  • Don't!!
  • I need that
  • I silly
  • Shaun said "I love you Anna," and she said "yeah, too much"
  • She sings "Happy Birthday Kyle" (My brother-in-law) all day long, especially in the shower
  • When asked if she had a good nap or sleep, she always says yes, then when asked what she dreamed about she always says "yellow cheese"
  • She told me to "shut-up" the other day, I guess we need to watch what we say more closely.
  • When asked "who drinks Mtn. Dew" she says "grown ups"
  • Every time we drive past the church she says "I don't want to go to church mom."
  • I hiding
  • If she does something naughty (like throw her food on the floor), as soon as I yell Anna!! She looks at me and instantly says "I sorry mom."
  • I want CANDY!!! (This girl LOVES candy)
  • The co-co man is coming (like the Boogey Man)
  • When I do her hair "I look pretty mom"
  • If the sun is shining in her eyes, "So bright, so bright."
  • She will get the thermometer or a fork and put it under her arm and say "Take temperature"
  • She is very good at saying "Please" and "Thank you"

These are just a few of the things she says, I need to be better at writing things down. They grow up way too fast, so far I have loved every minute of it. Here are a couple funny stories (at the time I didn't think it was too funny though) that she has done recently.

  • I had just gotten Anna out of the shower (our bathtub is not currently working) and she was hanging out in her diaper. I was on the phone in the back bedroom. Anna comes running in and grabs my hand and is saying "poo poo on table mom". She said it several times as she tried pulling me into the living room. So I followed her out and saw she had been telling the truth. She had gone to the bathroom in her diaper and then taken it out and put it on the glass coffee table. (Thankfully she didn't make a mess with it) After another shower, cleaning and scrubbing and telling her over and over that poo poo goes in the toilet or in her diaper I think she got the picture.
  • We went to Wal-Mart to get some groceries, Anna would not sit in the cart so I let her down so I could get some apples. Next thing I know she has 3 tomatoes in her arms and she starts bowling them down the isle. As soon as I start after her she turns and grabs more and started throwing them. So, be sure to wash your produce before you eat it. You never know what grimy kid has played with it.
  • I was going over to the church for Super Saturday with the Relief Society, Shaun was raking leaves over at the church so I took Anna to play in the nursery until one of us got done. As we were pulling into the church parking lot she says "no mom, I don't want to go to the temple today, I don't want Jesus". I told her well we are going to the church, not the temple and today is Saturday so you don't have to learn about Jesus until tomorrow.

Halloween

I am a fan of Halloween and I really enjoy dressing up. I just wish everyone felt the same as I did. It would make it much more fun if everyone just dressed up. It's only one day out of the year that you can get away with looking like a total retard and getting away with it.

We endend up having a great night. Last minute we decided to have a little party with some neighborhood friends. For being last minute, we had a really good turn out. We got together at our home and ate soup. They we all went out in a huge group and went trick-or-treating with our kiddos. Anna had a great time, which made it so much more fun for Shaun and I. We had been practicing trick-or treating all October, she did awesome!!

Halloween Pictures

I had been meaning to take Anna into Kiddie Kandids for the last couple of weeks. Now that Halloween is just around the corner, I finally made it. For some reason Anna recently decided that she likes her picture taken, which is okay by me. She did great, it only took a few minutes until we were done.

I had always liked Kiddie Kandids because they say you don't need an appointment. We went it at noon to get her picture taken and I had to make an appointment for 2:30...right in the middle of nap time. Now they are charging for everything. Not that I can really complain. I had printed off a coupon for a free 8x10, but now if you want an overlay they charge, they upped their price from $16 to $20 dollars a sheet, the lady said they charge for any option now.

Anyway, I am happy I finally got her picture, that she did great, it only took 15 mins from start to finish (once we went back for our apt.)

Weekend fun

We went to Leila's birthday party on Friday. It was a costume party for both the kids and adults. It turned out really cute. When I first got Anna's costume she wouldn't put it on for days. I had to bribe her and fight with her to get it on. Then we practiced trick-or-treating and she found out that she got candy for wearing it. This girl will do just about anything for candy. I would hide in the pantry and she would knock on the door and say trick-or-treat, I opened the door and gave her a treat. Now she loves it!!

Anna & Lizzie the two bee's of the party!

Last night we went to Whipperman's house where grandma was painting Loni's pregnant belly. Anna thought this looked like fun so Aunt Whitney painted Anna's belly.

Loni's finished product. Mom did a GREAT job!!

We are quickly running out of time to finish our summer projects (there are many). Shaun has been working hard on our deck. It was about to fall down if we didn't tear it down. We started from scratch and built it bigger. It's not done yet but already it is 100 times better then the old one. He screwed all the trex on this weekend. Hopefully this snow will stop and we can put the railing up.

Notice Anna pouting on the side she wasn't happy and she didn't want her picture taken.

I made Anna this apron and thought she would love it, well I was wrong. She put it on once for just a few minutes and will not put it on again. I chased her around the house trying to get her to put it on for a picture. She won and I took the picture of it hanging on the door knob.

This is what I got for trying to get her to put her apron on. She is actually really mad and crying!

More boogers?

The other night Shaun, Anna and I were sitting around the table. I noticed that Anna had a little booger sneaking out of her nose. I told Shaun to wipe it but in doing so he just wiped it down further (closer to her lip). I saw that it was still there and he went to get it again, but Anna got to it first. This is the first one (at least of my knowledge) that she has eaten. We usually make a big deal about them being gross and always going in a tissue. Shaun and I were dying that she had eaten it. Then she looks at us and says "more boogers, I want more boogers, yummy''. She kept repeating it so I grabbed my phone and tried to get it on video. It was too funny but also disgusting. As far as I know she hasn't had another one. Hopefully it was the first and last!

This is a really long video and I didn't know how to edit it, Sorry!

Consignment Sale

I just got home from the consignment sale, I'm pretty happy with what I walked out with. Shaun is always gone when I get home from this sale, so I display all my findings so he can see when he gets home. I make him guess what I spent on everything. It usually makes me feel good about what I got because he always guesses really high. Any guesses? Shaun guessed $100.00. Well, I walked out spending $55.00. Not bad if you ask me. I am thinking I might save a few of the toys and give them to Anna for Christmas. But then again maybe not, I'm really excited to see if she likes them and Christmas is so far away.

I'm thinking I might go back in the morning to see what else I can find. If anyone is interested, it's at a Methodist Church on 10600 S. 1000 E. I think they are open Friday from 9-7:00 and Saturday 9-1:30.

Craft Time

Not much has been has been going on at the Moyes home lately. Shaun went to St. George with his Dad and 3 brothers last weekend for their annual guys trip. They golfed and went to Las Vegas for the Nascar truck races. Glad I'm not a guy! I thought I'd try to be crafty. So I went The Wood Connection and bought this WITCH craft. Lindsay and I each bought one. Then we got together to paint and finish them.

This is my finished masterpiece.

I had to find something to do I the evenings once Anna was in bed so I crocheted all of these.

Camping at Lake Washington

For the last few years we have been going up the Alexander Lake to go camping. It's kind of difficult to get to this lake without 4 wheel drive cars and a few scratches on the way up. Since we were going a little late in the year I decided we needed a tent trailer since we have Anna. I do love to tent camp but I didn't want her to be miserably cold when it was time to sleep. Shaun's brother had a trailer that we were able to borrow. It made sleeping so much better. We decided to try something new this year and go to Lake Washington. The nice thing about Alexander Lake is you aren't right next to someone. There aren't designated camp sites, you find somewhere that looks good and you set up camp. Lake Washington has camping areas which are right next to one another, so there is no privacy. Bummer, but we still had fun. Next year we will probably go back to Alexander Lake.

Our camp

Kyle, Whitney, Mandy & ShaunNic, Cat, Kip & Emily

We took a canoe up to play with on the lake

Anna & Dad throwing rocks on the island that we canoed out to

The next day Kyle, Nic & Shaun swam in the FREEZING lake out to the island.

One of these bathing beauties is all mine!

Anna really wanted to swim, but it was freezing so we took her shoes off and she was able to put her feet in. She didn't seem to care that it was so cold.
